Productivity..

'Do the most productive thing possible at every given moment.'

Setting daily goals is the more tiresome thing to do. This is may be the consequence of the goal approach. What I do is to think of my goals for the day during my meditation – prayer time in the morning and in the evening.

Think God, then, think of your goals for the day.

The idea is to have something accomplished for the day, in connection with the philosophy of 'doing something.'

To have goals is better than having no goals after all.

“Don’t be afraid to get tough with yourself, it may be your last chance.”

Someone said that “Man could accomplish any goal if he is willing to pay the price."

Einstein

Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Although goal-setting needs a comprehensive approach, yet, you should always remember to have focus on what’s important to you. There’s a need to prioritize! Just don’t forget your main goal which, once realized, could open your life to more horizons.

You must think that it can be done. Believe that it’s possible! Einstein said that “imagination is more important than knowledge.”

Think of the possibility.

Think positive.

Share,don't keep it to yourself..

Share your goals to people who will support you.

In goal setting, you consider the time element. Some goals need a shorter period of fulfillment while some require a longer period of planning, revising, modifying, or even eliminating it, so it will be replaced by something practical or realistic, noble or more worthwhile.

Share your goals, your dreams to people who will support or put you in high regard, not to anybody who will be threatened by your success.

An effective strategy for living..

Goals are very powerful motivators.

Ari Kiev, the author of “A Strategy For Living,” mentioned that goals are very powerful motivators and that identifying and pursuing personal goals is an effective strategy for daily living.

“Simply setting priorities is the key that opens the door to effective use of time,” according to Dr. Robert Anthony, author of the Ultimate Secrets of Total Self Confidence.

“Get into the habit of writing down each night, before retiring, the six most important things you want to do the next day. After you list these, put them in their order of priority. As you get those things done, you will be filled with a great sense of accomplishment. Each project you complete will make the next seem easier. And success will follow success.”

Planning & planting..

There is simply great power in setting goals for ourselves.

“Goal-setting” according to Rene’e Harmon, “needs planning and planting.” Effective planning covers different time spans.

Set your over-all main goal, then break this goal into smaller segments or subgoals. You may break them down into medium-range subgoals and short-range subgoals.

Consider yourself a corporation; plan years, months, and weeks ahead, the same way corporations do, tack them down on the wall next to your mirror, and make them a steady reminder of your progress toward success.”

“There is simply great power in setting goals for ourselves,” someone wrote. “When we set a concrete objective and determine a definite road map for getting there, it can be transformational.”

SET GOALS TO ATTAIN YOUR SUCCESS

Goals are your golden keys to success!

“Effective goal-setting is the most necessary skill of all.”

“You have to take life as it happens, but you should try to make it happen the way you wish to take it. In essence, you must know what you want to happen; you must have goals.

Every moment that you’re playing the great game of living to the fullest, you’re charging toward an understanding of your best potential, of what your finest destiny is. Allowing ourselves to bury our lives in apathy is the greatest crime – and we commit it by not committing to goals that are real to us.”

– Rene’e Harmon, author of the Compleat Success

In memory of my loving mother..

What success should mean to you?

Brian Adams wrote: “To one individual it is the attainment of a vibrant personality, to another, the establishment of a fine home and happy family life, to someone else, the acquisition of vast wealth and power.

What signifies success to one individual may not mean a thing to another." If a person is working toward a specific, worthy goal that he has picked for himself, he is a success.

A success is a person who is a carpenter, mechanic, musician, salesman, and teacher because that's the profession or occupation he really wanted to be in and he chose for himself.

A success is also the housewife and mother who wanted to be a housewife and mother and who's doing an outstanding job."

My mother is the person who chose to be a loving mother, and, for us she has done an outstanding job.

My memory of Nanay was that by choosing to be a good mother, she became a SUCCESS!

Being a good mother is her lingering memories worth preserving....

Success is relative.

First things first.: Define your success.

Know your own concept of what it means to you.

What is your picture of a successful life?

The moment you establish your personal standard of success, that will be the journey you will take.

All in all, the whole of the matter is this: ‘Success means different things to different people.’

Success is a journey, an ongoing process.

“Timing is everything,” according to Dennis Waitley. You take life little by little.

“Success is continual, John Maxwell said.

“It’s not an event but a journey, an ongoing process. Success is the positive result of steady forward movement.”

If you want to succeed, act in the direction towards success. This is the journey – the longer you work in the right direction, the closer you are to success.

What is Success?

Webster defined success as “the satisfaction of a goal thought for.”

“Success should give you the gift of satisfaction and that certain zest for life that makes you look forward to each new day because there are so many things for you to enjoy, to do and to experience. Your adrenaline has to run. The pivot point is finding out what will motivate your own unique personality. Getting in touch with your true self must be your first priority!” That’s according to Ren’ee Harmon in his book ‘Complete Success.’

My favorite definition is that of Pat Robertson who said that success is “a progressive achievement of worthwhile goals. The secret is in progression: That with every level of achievement, you find that another horizon opens for you.”

Brian Adams wrote: “Each job or experience is a necessary ‘lesson in life’ from which knowledge is gained to be used in the successful completion of further aims.”

The third definition is that of Renee Harmon who said that Success is “a painstaking process of building little success upon little success”. You consider the element of time.

 What is it to you???

You have a divine potential waiting to blossom.

Brian Adams, in his book “How to Succeed” wrote that every man is born with free will. You have the privilege of deciding for yourself which turn of the road to take.  The final decision rest within the confines of your own mind as to whether you succeed or fail; no other person can succeed for you; it’s a solo act.

Norman Vincent Peale said: “You are someone special because you have a divine potential within you just waiting to blossom.”

Worthy for the answer..

Sometimes, we are answers to our own prayers.

“We are special beings”, Chris’s Prentiss said in his book For Once In Your Life, “able to direct our own courses, able to evolve spiritually to higher planes of existence.” As special Creatures with a God-like quality, I would say, there is a built-in capacity for every one of us to do what we believe we can do and to become what we are capable of.

There is an assertion from the liberal minded people that God the Almighty will not do something until his people pray here on earth.  Furthermore, he will not do something for you that which you can do for yourself.

Master life, rather than be mastered by it.

“You and I have the power”, according to Norman Vincent Peale in his book Amazing Results of Positive Thinking, “to live truly great.  The strange and powerful forces all around us and within us were surely designed by God to enable His children to master life rather than be mastered by it.”

I heard someone said that the Creator of the Universe will not make a house for us but, will, rather, provide for us lumber and tools. He will not make for us sugar to drink sweetened coffee or milk; rather, He only gives us sugarcane.  God will not give us dress, only cottons to weave. We are His hands!

Simply beginning..

Things themselves (circumstances, situations, events, people) will not improve alone. If your life is better, it is because you have done something constructive to make it better.

Do something!

Doing nothing leads to boredom.

Simply beginning will help you to eliminate anxiety about the whole project or assignment.

Do Something!

Someone said that you need to “do something, even if it’s wrong. Don’t just stand there doing nothing. Remember that a poor plan carried out with vigor and enthusiasm can succeed where the best plan in the world which is never executed has absolutely no chance of success. Action of some sort is always required if you want to be successful.”

Help Yourself Philosophy!

Philosophy is a set of basic principles underlying a particular sphere of knowledge. In this book, it is about the guiding principles of success.

Yet, I desire that this book will sound more practical, rather than philosophical. I desire to have this philosophy of successful living applicable to everybody irrespective of religious background.

This is the Help Yourself Philosophy which expounds principles of success combined with how-to-do-it guidelines.

Help Yourself is a principle that says: Do something!

Anxious start..

The idea of writing a book started way back in 1992 during my college years as I ponder about the idea of writing 25 goals to happen before you die - given the chance. The inspiration of writing about success came after reading the “Think and Grow Rich” in 1998 which I bought at the National Bookstore.  In the year 2000, I started to write the steps to make in order to realize the dream.

I really made an anxious start way back December 16, 2002 by writing the Preface! As was written, “the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

That anxious start - a single step- went on and on, to finish every chapter one at a time. I treaded slowly, went another mile, and, it was theoretically done - for in the first place, I believe it can be done.

HELP YOURSELF!

I desire to write something for the present generation and a legacy to the future generation…a book that would guide them on how to succeed in life! Success became a passionate word for me and of which I wanted to be.

I made a research on how to become successful, why people fail while others succeed. I read everything about the subject - to ascertain how the great men of all ages succeed.  Personally, I interview people, listen carefully to their answers, write them down for future reference and application.

I desire to make a philosophy for successful living - a Filipino attempt to pass on the principles and ideals of the great writers whom I admired most. This would be a self-help book that will serve as a guide to become successful. This is a book which I have the right to say as I let the principles revolutionize my life and the lives of many people. This is a record of success stories. This is an action book that was applied in a human laboratory of which the author has direct contact.  I believe in something and my faith keeps me believing that the principles expressed in this book are sound and practical.

For my hometown: Escalante City

"Acre of Diamond"

"The idea is that in your own country, everyone has the opportunity to make more of himself in his own environment, with his own skill, with his own energy, and with his own friends. Remember, if you know what people need you have gotten more knowledge of a fortune than any amount of capital can give you. There is a human need; there is a great fortune.

Greatness consists not in the holding of some future office, but really consists in doing great deeds with little means and the accomplishment of vast purposes from the private ranks of life.

To be great at all one must be great in his own place. He who can give to his city better streets and better sidewalks, better schools and more colleges, more happiness and more civilization, more of God, he will be great anywhere.

Let every man or woman here, if you never hear me again, remember this, that if you wish to be great at all, you must begin where you are and what you are, in your hometown, now.

He who can give to his city any blessing, he who can be a good citizen while living in his hometown, he who can make better homes, he who can be a blessing whether he works in the shop or sits behind the counter or keeps house, whatever be his life, he who would be great anywhere, must first be great in his hometown."

Thinking Big in Escalante City..

‎                                       "Thinking Big In Small Places"

You can never guess what great things can come out from unknown places when somebody begins to think greatly. As a matter of fact, the worlds most significant thinking was done in the town of Nazareth, and from it there emerged one who would be known as Lord and Master.(Can anything good come out of Nazareth?)

What mattered most was not the town, not the quality of the schools, not the nature of the community, nor the vigor of the synagogue, but rather the person who found in the town, the school, the synagogue and the community something more than anyone else found there. Jesus captured from his environment all the values it offered and then enriched it with his own insight.

Too often we are inclined to feel it is a misfortune when our children, for one reason or another, cant go to one of the great colleges or universities and have to settle for a college of a second rate standing.Yet, the point of the matter is that where people come from isnt nearly as important as the spirit and purpose inside them.

Can anything good come out of Escalante?

Yes!

How?

By thinking big in small places.

Success is a journey, not the destination.

I did not pass the Bar on my 1st take, probably my preparation was not enough,i did not give my full concentration and total commitment to the review,my foundation in the College of Law was not very good.

But i am challenged to give my dream a chance to come true; i want to give it a 'One More
Try.'

I may say that i fought a good fight. The 6 months review in Manila and taking the
Bar exams was an awesome experience!

To flunk in the Bar is not the end because the thrill is in being part of the experience. The
Bar is just part of the journey of my life. There's more to life than just being a Bar passer!!!Success is a journey, not the destination.
